Infusion therapy involves the administration of a medication through an IV, needle injection or catheter. This treatment is typically used when a client's medical condition requires a more aggressive therapy or the client is unable to take medications by mouth.

When medication is infused by IV or catheter it bypasses the digestive tract and increases absorption of the medication for a better treatment outcome.
ExtendaCare develops a partnership with you, your physician, and your pharmacy as a team to ensure safe delivery and administration of your medications and supplies. One of our Trained nurses will visit to educate you and your designated caregiver regarding the medication, administration, and signs and symptoms to look for when a nurse is not present.
